Use of exothermic sleeves for aluminium alloy castings
Jakubec, Petr ; Martinák, Rostislav (referee) ; Kaňa, Václav (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with the influence of the exothermic riser sleeves on the solidification time of aluminum alloys. The thesis is divided into five parts. The first chapter describes solidification of cast alloys. The second chapter deals with the designing of risers. The third chapter is focused on the types of risers. The fourth chapter describes ways of intensification of risers and chemical composition of exothermic and insulating mixtures for production of riser sleeves. The main fifth chapter focuses on experimental measurements of temperatures and solidification time of aluminum alloy in castings, risers and exothermic and insulating riser sleeves.
Polyfunction house Křenová
Láníková, Jaroslava ; Boháč, Ivo (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor) ; Pěnčík, Jan (advisor)
The multifunctional house is a part of the row of buildings lining the Krenova street. This house closes the whole line of buildings, so all the houses together create a functional unit. This multifunctional building is devided into three functional parts – a museum, an administrative part and flats. The centre of the building is used as a relaxing area – the atrium. The principle of the design is based on a simple line of block materials connecting to each other. In the front of the house, which is facing the Krenova street, will be situated the museum. The front facade is made of black and white tiles and decorated by a glass ashlar. A second glass ashlar is situated on the east side of the building – the administrative part. This east side will be visible from the newly planned town cirquit. The area in between this cirquit and the multifunctional house will be made into park and will use as a place for relaxation. The flats are situated into the quiet part of the street Skorepka
Namesti Miru in Brno improvement and completion
Juříček, Pavel ; Štěpánek, Martin (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Jan (advisor)
The appearance of Namesti Miru has been unsuitable for a long time with many functional and aesthetic problems. The proposal addresses the use of public space and transforms it into a dignified square, which forms the heart of the Masaryk district. At the same time, the project combines the functionality of the transport hub with the maximum use of public space. The building in the southern part of the square responds to the demands of the inhabitants and accommodates both administrative and residential functions and the cultural activities of visitors. The building creates a semi-public space with plenty of greenery. The architectural and urban design of the building responds to the surrounding area and refers to the history of the Masaryk district.
Swimming Centre Brno
Sobočíková, Petra ; Fišer, Jiří (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Ladislav (advisor)
The swimming center is located on the very end of the district Brno – Zidenice on the slightly sloping parcel with irregular shape. As a reaction to the proportions of the lot, the mass of the building can be described as a complex of two blocks which creates “v” form. In the one of the wing there is a swimming center with the light height of two floors. In the second section, the fitness is placed on the first floor and the wellness on the second floor. Entrance hall with a reception desk is the main connecting element from which you can enter all of the described areas. There is also a staircase and an elevator for an access to the second storey. On this level it is possible to walk on a gallery that allows visitors to enter wellness, snack bar or office but optical connection with lower floor as well. The roof above the swimming pool is proposed as made of wood tie beams. It is creating sloped surface that helps building to merge with surround. The rest of the construction is proposed from a reinforced concrete with an additional truss construction. Façade is designed from perforated metal plates in combination with glass façade.
Public library
Fučíková, Šárka ; Burianová, Lenka (referee) ; Kacálek, Petr (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis is a public library in Mohelnice. The object is designed with sand lime blocks, it has a basement and three floors. Basement is used for storage, first and second floor fulfill the function of library and a meeting room can be found in the third floor which is used for a purpose of the library and municipal office. The object is roofed by a cold roof with load-bearing structure made by nailed timber truss. The roofing of utility room is designed as a warm flat roof. Ceilings are designed from cast in place reinforced concrete floor. The whole object is insulated with contact thermal insulation made by mineral wool insulation. Facade of the first floor is designed with stone veener.
Adhesion of Adhesive Joints for Facade Applications Made of Wood-based Materials
Nečasová, Barbora ; Schmid, Pavel (referee) ; Sedlák,, Petr (referee) ; Kovářová, Barbora (advisor)
The presented dissertation thesis is focused on investigating the adhesive properties of façade cladding made of wood and wood-based materials in combination with flexible adhesion/assembly systems. The systems allow the implementation of effective construction joints and provide a solution with uniform stress distribution which allows the transfer of heavy loads, while simultaneously reducing the weight of the entire structure, which is also often connected with substantial cost reductions. Despite all that, little attention has been paid to this area so far. It is not a solution which is properly embodied in technical standards or in designers´, architects´ and contractors´ awarenesses. The aim of this dissertation is to characterise adhesive properties of selected façade cladding representatives made of wood and wood-based materials for the purposes of bonded joint application in a ventilated façade system. To define adhesion of façade joints, numerical and experimental methods are used, taking also various limit conditions into account. The main conclusion of the dissertation is the characterisation of basic parameters which influence adhesion, effectiveness and quality of façade glued joints. The secondary conclusion is the compilation of a simple methodical procedure for testing and implementing façade glued joints. The dissertation also makes a contribution by extending the current state of knowledge of façade adhesive joints.
